Serco and Bahwan partnered for this proposal as they realised that they could both bring complementary skills, experience and closely aligned interests; as well as the single source delivery of a strong and experienced network of UK and Omani companies who are enthusiastic and motivated to enter into a long-term partnership with the Omani MOD in this exciting project.

Serco Group plc

Serco is a strong international task management company with a turnover of $2.2bn and is a major supplier to the UK MOD and other departments of the UK Government.

Serco is also one of the UK's leading Private Finance Initiative (PFI) companies having successfully reached financial close and delivered 13 PFI projects on time, on budget and with the seamless transfer of operations, including the prestigious Joint Services Command and Staff College (JSCSC) in Shrivenham, UK.

Over 40% of Serco's 34,500 staff work on military sites on over 70 Defence services contracts covering the full spectrum of military support activities.

Serco also run two Local Education Authority's (LEAs) in the UK, Education Bradford and Education Walsall, where it is Serco's aim to transform educational achievement.

Suhail Bahwan Group (Holdings) Co. LLC :

The Suhail Bahwan Group is one of the largest private sector companies in Oman with a turnover in excess of $1bn. Bahwan is involved in trading, construction and engineering throughout Oman and has significant experience in private sector investment projects, including the privatisation of Seeb and Salalah airports and the Barka power and desalination plant.

The Bahwan Contracting Company will be TCC's consortium construction partner for this project and the Bahwan Engineering Company will be responsible for the installation of, and the facilities management services for the MTC Mechanical and Electrical Services.

Bahwan has 8,000 staff and has been operating in Oman for 35 years.
