Delivery Partners
Serco and Bahwan are working with a number of key strategic partners
who have a wealth of experience in developing and delivering curriculum
and these partners will help ensure the delivery of a world class
solution at the MTC:
TAFE Western Australia (TAFEWA) & Edexcel
International (UK)
The MTC has established the world's first integration
of TAFE WA and Edexcel certification.
Edexcel International (UK)

Edexcel will be responsible for providing the ND and
HND modular framework, qualification structure and approve the delivery
of these programmes. They will also ensure the establishment of the MTC
as an Approved Edexcel Centre.
TAFE Western Australia (TAFEWA)

TAFE Western Australia will be responsible for the design and
accreditation of the Foundation Course, managing English Language
integration into the entire curriculum for accreditation, the
establishment of the MTC as an Approved Centre for delivering ICDL and
IELTS, together with accreditation of all practical components with the
On-Job-Training (OJT), ND and HND Curricula.

Kingston University

Kingston University will be actively involved in the
Integrated Academic Training Management of the MTC. They will provide
CAA accredited JAR-147 approved JAR-66 provision linking this to the
Foundation and Honours Degree courses in Aerospace Engineering.
Kingston University is the recognised pioneer and leader
of higher education lead aircraft engineering, providing civil aviation
courses with British Airways and KLM Engineering, as well as military
provision for the Royal Navy, at HMS Sultan, the Army, at Arborfield and
the Royal Air Force as an elective. The University also offers a BEng
(Hons) in Automotive Engineering (Diesel Technology) with Delphi, one of
the largest diesel component manufacturer and distributor in the world.
Kingston University is well placed, therefore, to
provide the higher education component at the MTC with Foundation
Degrees and BEng(Hons) degrees in Aircraft Engineering, Automotive
Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Dr Peter Mason, Head of Engineering at Kingston

established as a European Centre of Excellence in Aircraft Education and
Training. We understand both the civilian and military ethos and we are
very excited to have the opportunity to be part of this innovative
project with Omanisation at its heart. We are committed to transferring
our experience and expertise to help develop the MTC into an
international centre of excellence".
Total I.T.
The leading edge ICT solution at the MTC will be provided by Total
IT. This will include a fully Managed Learning Environment (MLE)
including a full student records management and resource scheduling
system and fully integrated Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
Total IT will ensure that the college will benefit from a high
performance network supporting approximately 900 concurrent users, with
wireless technologies offering staff and students the freedom of
wireless access to high quality learning material from key training and
accommodation areas.

TQ Education and Training

TQ will provide expertise on training and education
matters, including the selection and procurement of the training
equipment and resources required to support the delivery of the
curriculum at the MTC. TQ will specifically manage the procurement
process and provide support services to ensure timely delivery,
installation and commissioning of the equipment in addition to providing
training to MTC staff prior to service commencement.

Training Ltd said, "Having played a part in the formative stages of the
project and indeed helping to bring together the core members of the
winning TCC consortium it is particularly pleasing to be involved in
providing further advice and technical procurement management services.

Teknical

Teknical will supply the Managed Learning Environment (MLE) to
support the delivery of the curriculum via a Virtual Learning
Environment (VLE) seamlessly integrated with administrative systems such
as student enrolment and timetabling.
Ric Thompson, Managing Director of Teknical, now part of the Serco
Group plc said "This is a tremendous achievement for Teknical. It will
become our largest contract to date in the Middle East, and will be a
showcase for the completely integrated educational support and back
office administrative systems that we provide".
Cranfield University

Cranfield University based at the Defence Academy of the United
Kingdom will, amongst other tasks, assist with curriculum development
and benchmarking, establish collaborative research and development
projects and evaluate the potential for new academic developments. They
will also support the development and operation of the Learning Resource
Centre.
Dr Mary Gill, Deputy Principal said, "An important part of Cranfield University's mission is to deliver education in
support of UK and International Defence, and it is pleased to be able to be able to utilise
its resource and expertise in support to of the Oman
Military Technological College project.
Training Systems Technology (TST)

Training Systems Technology (TST) will undertake the Training Needs
Analysis for this exciting and forward looking project. This analysis
will ensure the Military Technological College training courses meet the
requirements of the operational user units.
HLM

HLM are the executive architects for the project. HLM's aim was to create a modern military college that provided a unique military and educational ethos and culture promoting engineering excellence. Working closely with local organisations and the PFI consortium, HLM has ensured that the building responds to climatic conditions, environmental goals, cultural references, creating a total learning and living environment.

For the MTC we have strived to create contemporary solutions which focus on developing and enhancing the quality of defence buildings.
